About

Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) is an extremely unpleasant condition and is also known as thyroid orbitopathy, Graves’ ophthalmopathy and which also known as Graves Disease (though technically Graves Disease is really a separate condition which causes thyroid eye disease, and about 10% of those who have Graves Disease do not suffer from Thyroid Eye Disease).

The problems of Thyroid Eye Disease mostly come about from an over active thyroid gland, and hence hyperthyroidism is directly implicated in most cases of the condition.

It causes reddening, a bulging appearance of the eyes, the feeling that their is grit in the eyes (even though there is not) and other symptoms.

In this website I explore the condition.
